Tom Lovelace studied Photography and Art History at the Bournemouth Arts Institute and Goldsmiths College,London. Since 2007 Lovelace has been producing work across the media of photography, sculpture and performance. Recent solo exhibitions include 'Work Starts Here' (Son Gallery, London 2012) and 'Gouge: Disruptions in Landscape Photography' (Centre for Photography, Aarhus, Denmark 2011). Recent group exhibitions include 'Live: Photography in Action' (Les Rencontres d'Arles, France 2013), 'Uncommon Ground' (Flowers Gallery, London 2012) and 'Ristruttura' (Project B Gallery, Milan, Italy 2012).
Lovelace's work has been featured in Philosophy of Photography, Source Photographic Review, Time Out London, Art Licks, Contemporary Art Society, The Guardian and the Financial Times. Most recently Lovelace was awarded an Anna Mahler Residency in Spoleto, Italy, where he commenced research on the photogram and the ready-made. This year (2013) he will continue this research in Aarhus, in collaboration with the Danish European Capital of Culture Programme.
