Aglaya Glebova

Aglaya Glebova is a Ph.D. candidate in the History of Art Department
at the University of California, Berkeley. Her dissertation focuses on
the representation of the White Sea-Baltic Canal, one of the first
GULags, particularly in Rodchenko's infamous 1933 photoessay for the
propaganda journal USSR in Construction. Aglaya is the recipient of
the Dedalus Foundation Dissertation Fellowship and will be a
Dissertation Fellow at the Doreen B. Townsend Center for the
Humanities at the University of California, Berkeley in 2012-2013. She
attended all the major protests in Moscow this winter and spring, and
has blogged about them for the Virginia Quarterly Review.
